The Canon imageClass MF452dw is a workhorse all-in-one mono laser printer that boasts top-tier output quality, plus suitable speed and paper capacity for heavy-duty printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. The M479fdw also produced sharp text at small font sizes, better than any inkjet we tried.

Some of this space is saved with a smaller paper tray, holding just 150 sheets in the input tray. This printer actually does come with a full capacity toner cartridge already included, so you can start working right after taking it out of the box. If you need a printer that can produce laser-quality color, than the HP Laser Jet Pro M277dwis the way to go. If you are someone who wants a great value and a quality product, the Brother MFC-L6700DW home laser printer is the best home printer for you. While still used by some industries, including health care, fax machines are outdated for most business needs.
In addition, joining the HP+ program extends the one-year warranty by another year, to two years. Ink costs — Do some extra Googling before pulling the trigger on that awesome printer you just found on sale. The upfront costs might be tempting, but if you accidentally purchase a printer with ultra-expensive toner cartridges, you might end up spending more in the long run after one too many flyer printouts for your annual pig roast. In addition, since its duplex printing isn’t single-pass, it took nearly twice as long to print two-sided documents as the HP. Brother claims the HL-L2350DW can print at up to 32 pages per minute, 5 pages per minute faster than the machine it replaces. It wasn’t quite that fast for us, but it still seemed speedy enough for just about any home or home-office use we could imagine. We clocked it at 25 pages per minute while printing single-sided PDFs and 12 pages per minute while using duplexing—faster than our color top pick, the HP M255dw, in both cases. Test print jobs reliably started up within a couple of seconds, too, so you won’t be left waiting long in any case. The bright and high-resolution color touchscreen display makes navigating the printer’s many settings menus easy.
The MFC-L2750DW is even simpler to set up than its little sibling because it has a color touchscreen control panel. At just 15.9 pounds, it’s more than 10 pounds lighter than our next-smallest pick, and its footprint is significantly smaller as well. It’s especially short at 7.2 inches tall, which should help you fit it on a bookshelf. But it’ll just as easily find a space on your desk or anywhere else you might want to shove it. The L2350DW reliably maintained a connection throughout testing—even several rooms away and a floor below our router. Some owners have reported issues with this printer’s predecessor, the HL-L2340DW, refusing to wake up from Deep Sleep mode, so we were happy to find that the new model didn’t give us any problems of the sort during our testing.
It’s also wireless enabled and there’s a wireless assistant built right in to walk you through the set-up – no IT departments needed. The graphic, text, and webpage text were all excellent, though the image quality on glossy paper was only good. In fact, the Pixma scored better in color reproduction when placed against other, more expensive all-in-one printers when printing on glossy paper. Some printers suffer from dimpling when printing images but the Pixma didn't and the skin tones were far better on the Canon image than on other brands. You can tell it was built on a budget, but as far as budget printers go, this one's pretty good. Similarly, the Brother MFC-L2690DW and MFC-L2730DW—both available exclusively at Walmart—resemble the MFC-L2750DW but with downgraded specs. The former has a button-driven, non-touch interface and slower print speeds, while the latter generally performs much like our pick but has half the memory and can’t do single-pass duplexing.
